General
Is Akoofy really free?
Yes — right now, everything on Akoofy is completely free: creating an account, acquiring books, and listening to them. We may introduce premium content in the future, but if we do, you'll always know clearly what stays free before anything changes.
What is Akoofy?
Akoofy is a platform for free, bite-sized audiobooks covering every kind of knowledge — history, science, biographies, ideas. Each episode runs about ten to twenty minutes and is built to sound like a good story, not a lecture.
Content & narration
Are the audiobooks written and narrated by AI?
Scripts are written by Vasilis with the help of AI, and every narration is produced using AI voices. We're upfront about it — every book carries an "AI-generated content" label so it's always clear how it was made.
How accurate is the content?
Every script is carefully fact-checked before it's narrated, and each book lists its real sources right on its page — trust is the whole foundation of what we're building.
Why are the audiobooks so short?
We deliberately keep episodes to about ten to twenty minutes so real, well-sourced knowledge fits into a commute, a walk, or a coffee break — no fluff, no filler.
Languages
What languages does Akoofy support?
Greek, on akoofy.gr, and English, on akoofy.com. We started with Greek because the language deserved a platform built for it, not a translation from somewhere else.
Are the Greek and English editions the same book?
Not a direct translation — English editions are adapted so each version reads naturally in its own language. Some books currently only exist in one language.
Your account & library
Do I need an account to listen?
No — anyone can play a book's sample without signing in. To listen to the full audiobook, you'll need a free account and to add the book to your library with the "Get it — Free" button.
Can I download an audiobook to listen offline?
Yes — once a book is in your library, you can download it for offline listening from its book page.
Is there a mobile app?
Not yet — Akoofy is currently a website, built to work well in a mobile browser. A native app is planned for a later stage.
Accessibility
Is Akoofy accessible for screen reader and keyboard users?
Yes — accessibility isn't optional for us. The whole site, including the audio player, is fully operable by keyboard, and both dark and light themes are built to proper color contrast. See our accessibility statement page for the full picture, including any known gaps.
Are transcripts available for every book?
Yes — every audiobook comes with a full, synchronized text transcript on its book page, for anyone who can't or doesn't want to listen to audio.

I found a mistake, or have a suggestion for a book — what do I do?
