Accessibility Statement

Akoofy exists to make knowledge available to everyone, including people who rely on assistive technology or can't read a screen at all — that isn't a feature we bolted on, it's the reason the platform is built the way it is. This statement explains what we target, what's in place today, and where we still fall short.

This statement covers akoofy.com and akoofy.gr. It doesn't cover third-party services we link to (Google sign-in, our social media pages) or the mobile apps once those ship.

Conformance target

We build against the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, level AA. We haven't commissioned an independent audit, so we can't claim full conformance — this is a standard we hold ourselves to and actively test against, not a certification.

What's in place today

Every audiobook has a full, synchronized text transcript alongside the audio, so the content is available to anyone who can't or doesn't want to listen. The site is fully operable by keyboard — no feature depends on a mouse or touch gesture, including the audio player's transport controls, volume, and seek bar. Interactive elements carry visible focus indicators and screen-reader labels, headings and landmarks are structured for navigation by assistive technology, and images carry descriptive alternative text. Dark and light themes are both built to sufficient color contrast, and neither is treated as an afterthought to the other. We honor your operating system's reduced-motion setting where animation is used.

Known gaps

We're a small, actively-developing platform and don't consider this finished. Known gaps right now: we haven't run a screen-reader-only walkthrough of every page with a real assistive-technology user, so some labels or reading order may not be optimal outside our own testing. The site icon is currently SVG-only with no PNG/Apple-touch-icon fallback on some older browsers. We haven't yet load-tested the platform against a full range of screen readers and browser combinations (we primarily test with VoiceOver and NVDA).

Please include the page, what you were trying to do, and the assistive technology/browser you were using if you can. We read every message and treat accessibility reports as a priority, not general feedback.
